About Us...
We are Grant, Colleen, Georgia, Oskar, Leo and Moses Dyck. We are farmers - we run a second generation 12,000 acre grain and oilseed operation. But, we are also much more than that. We make Niverville our home, our place of business and recreation (if you can call farming recreation!) We have a passion for farming and enjoy turning challenges into opportunities.
What do we do?
Grant, in his spare time from farming and the occasional bull-ride...(and yes, there is some spare time) serves as MB Director on the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association, is involved with Canadian Food Grains Bank, his community and church. In addition, he co-owns Wood Anchor with long-time friend J Neufeld. Wood Anchor diverts the Dutch-Elm diseased trees in the City of Winnipeg and turns them into pre-finished and unfinished flooring.
Colleen finds time between raising 4 kids, growing a kick-butt garden and leading an active lifestyle to continue to work on her all-natural energy bar business: The Great Gorp Project. Her Gorp Bar utilizes many of the crops grown at Artel Farms. She recently won top honor at the 2009 Great Manitoba Food Fight and is working to bring her product to the market in 2011 after 5 years of product research, shelf-life testing and nutritional analysis.
